Waabi and Volvo Autonomous Solutions partner to jointly develop and deploy autonomous transportation solutions
Waabi and Volvo Autonomous Solutions have partnered to develop and deploy autonomous transportation solutions, combining Waabi’s generative AI technology with Volvo’s automation and safety innovation. The partnership aims to transform the $1 trillion North American freight industry by enabling the deployment of autonomous trucks that prioritize safety, efficiency, and sustainability. Waabi’s virtual driver system, the Waabi Driver, will be integrated into Volvo’s autonomous truck, the Volvo VNL Autonomous, which will be produced at Volvo’s New River Valley assembly plant. The collaboration will enable the deployment of autonomous trucks that can safely generalize to different scenarios on the road, thanks to Waabi’s next-generation AV2.0 approach and Volvo’s industry-leading autonomous truck platform. The partnership is a continuation of Volvo’s investment in Waabi, with Volvo Group Venture Capital becoming a strategic investor in 2023 and later investing in Waabi’s $200M Series B round.
