Hitachi Acquires MA Micro

Hitachi Ltd. has signed a stock purchase agreement on April 26 to acquire all shares of MA micro automation GmbH from MAX Management GmbH. MA micro automation is a leading provider of robotic and automation technology (robotic SI) including high-speed linear handling systems, high-precision assembly lines, and high-speed vision inspection technology for Europe, North America, and Southeast Asia, for EUR 71.5M million. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2024, pending completion of the customary regulatory filings. After the acquisition is completed, MA micro automation will join JR Automation Technologies, LLC, a market leader in providing advanced automation solutions and digital technologies in the robotic system integration business for North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia as a continued effort to expand the companyโ€™s global presence.

Crestview Partners Completes Sale of JR Automation to Hitachi for $1.425 Billion

Crestview Partners announced that it has completed the sale of JR Automation Technologies, LLC to Hitachi, Ltd. for $1.425 billion. The agreement to sell JR was announced on April 23, 2019, and all parties are pleased to have smoothly brought this transaction to a successful conclusion.

Mike DuBose, Crestview Senior Advisor, said, โ€œSince our investment in JR in 2015, the company has grown dramatically from $170 million of sales and five production facilities in North America to $600+ million of sales and 23 facilities worldwide. Through that period, JR became the largest independent provider of custom automation systems in North America while simultaneously increasing international revenue to approximately 25% of total sales.โ€
