ANYbotics Raises Additional $60 Million to Drive U.S. Expansion
ANYbotics, a global leader in AI-driven robotic inspection solutions, has raised an additional $60 million, bringing its total funding to over $130 million. The new funding is led by Qualcomm Ventures and Supernova Invest, with participation from TDK Ventures and other new investors. Backed by existing investors from Silicon Valley and Europe, including Walden Catalyst, NGP Capital, Bessemer Venture Partners, Swisscanto, and Swisscom Ventures, the funding will accelerate ANYbotics’ global scaling and recent expansion in the U.S. to meet the growing demand for its industrial inspection robots and enhance the company’s ability to deliver exceptional services and seamless integrations worldwide.

How BMW Group and Qualcomm built an automated driving platform on AWS
There are several challenges that BMW Group and Qualcomm need to solve in the Autonomous Driving/Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (AD/ADAS) space to bring various automated driving functions to maturity. This includes collecting test data over thousands of kilometers with an extensive range of different traffic scenarios and environmental conditions using test vehicles equipped with the latest sensors. This also involves testing the data quality with which a car perceives the totality of its surroundings. Additionally, the examples are subject to validation and verification of both safety and driving functions in a range of real-world, on-road scenarios and situations.
After deploying the next generation ADAS platform and creating all needed Realms the ADAS application developers have access to AWS services and necessary tools to support functional validation and approval. Each Realm provides key accelerators that empower BMW Group ADAS application developers to move faster. By default, each Realm has preconfigured CI/CD services that are ready to be used to develop, build and deploy IaC applications in the Realm with minimum effort. Another key accelerator is a centralized IaC repository that contains a collection of reusable IaC code modules based on the open-source projects Autonomous Driving Data Framework (ADDF) and Industry Data Framework (IDF). ADDF and IDF provide ready-to-run examples that implement common service patterns like an EKS-cluster. Every Realm on the ADAS platform has the ability to easily integrate into the custom-built overarching orchestration which facilitates standardized pub–sub communication across Realms.
Qualcomm and STMicroelectronics Enter Strategic Collaboration in Wireless IoT
Qualcomm Technologies International, Ltd., a subsidiary of Qualcomm Incorporated, and STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM), a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, announce a new strategic collaboration for the next generation of industrial and consumer IoT solutions augmented by edge AI. This highly complementary collaboration will see the two companies integrate Qualcomm Technologies’ leading AI-powered wireless connectivity technologies, starting with Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/Thread combo system-on-a-chip (SoC), with the market-leading microcontroller (MCU) ecosystem from ST. Through this collaboration, developers will enjoy seamless connectivity software integration into STM32 general-purpose MCUs, including software toolkits, facilitating quick and broad adoption via ST’s world-wide sales and distributor channels.
LG Energy, Qualcomm to develop battery management system
South Korea’s LG Energy Solution Ltd., the world’s second-largest electric vehicle battery maker, announced on Sunday that it will develop a battery management system (BMS) for future electric vehicles (EVs) with the US-based Qualcomm. The company aims to improve the BMS’s accuracy by integrating Qualcomm’s technology into the system, which was previously based on less sophisticated software.
LG Energy Solution will incorporate specific functionalities of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis into the BMS diagnostic software.

On-device AI can offer additional personalisation as well as enhanced privacy and security as data remains on the device. It also drives faster performance and lower costs as GenAI searches on the cloud can be expensive. A whitepaper published by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. suggests that GenAI-based search cost per query is estimated to increase by ten times compared to traditional search methods. By removing the need to utilise the cloud, costs can be reduced.
Zebra’s TC53/TC58 and TC73/TC78 mobile computers and ET6x Series tablets powered by Qualcomm Technologies – together with Zebra’s asset visibility and intelligent automation solutions – deliver elevated data insight, analysis and recommendations, problem solving, planning and creativity. Front-line workers can utilise a smaller on-device model, even in rural, built-up and underground working environments where connection to the cloud may not be possible. Alternatively, users may switch to a cloud-based app or web browser GenAI tool via Zebra’s Wi-Fi 6/6E and 5G enabled devices.

Third Wave Automation (TWA), provider of high-reach autonomous forklifts, today announced a strategic investment by Qualcomm Ventures and Zebra Technologies, bringing total funding to $70 million. The strategic investment will enable TWA to accelerate new innovations as its first product expands its select pilot program. With the funding, TWA plans to expand its market offerings, accelerate new solutions for automating other classes of forklifts, including narrow aisle and counterbalance trucks and integrate with automation solutions, such as Fetch Robotics, which is now part of Zebra Technologies.
Qualcomm updates robotics platform to add 5G connectivity and edge compute power
Qualcomm Technologies announced today the latest version of its robotics platform and AMR reference design to provide advanced robots with 5G connectivity and artificial intelligence at the edge computing power.
The Qualcomm Robotics RB6 Platform and the Qualcomm RB5 AMR Reference Design will support evolving applications for OEMs and robot manufacturers looking to add ground robots to industrial use cases for government service applications, logistics, healthcare, retail, warehousing, agriculture, construction and utilities. The new technology could power delivery robots, automated manufacturing robots, urban air mobility vehicles and industrial drone infrastructure.
